The Voice: Warren Stone, Josiah Hawley, Danielle Bradbery, Grace Askew, Audrey Karrasch, Tawnya Reynolds advance; Caroline Glasser stolen

The Voice battle round continued on Tuesday night, and here’s what I heard.

Team Adam Levine’s Michael Austin, 43, and Warren Stone, 31, singing Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party – This should be a real battle as Michael is a sheriff and Warren is a firefighter. I can handle that kind of country music, very well sung. Adam picks Warren.

Team Usher’s Jeff Lewis, 28, and Josiah Hawley, 27, perform the Police’s Roxanne – Usher really being tough on the pair during rehearsals, especially Jeff. Jeff may have had a previous record deal, but I like Josiah better. Usher agreed and kept Josiah.

Team Blake Shelton’s indie girl Caroline Glasser, 18, against country girl Danielle Bradbery, 16, singing Put Your Records On – Danielle is an unreal singer for her age, but I really like the uniqueness of Caroline’s voice. Blake continues his theme of sticking with country artists and chooses Danielle to continue on his team. I think it’s a mistake and so did Usher and Adam as they hit their buzzers to steal. After much begging, Caroline chooses to continue with Usher.

Three battles we didn’t get to see:

Blake chooses another country artist Grace Askew over Trevor Davis; Usher picks Audrey Karrasch over Jamila Thompson; and Shakira selects Tawnya Reynolds over Mark Andrew.

It’s beginning to look like the show is pushing country artists this season as six of the acts selected to continue thus far have twang in their background (Blake has three, Adam two and Shakira one).
